High Pay Centre identity and website

High Pay Centre (HPC) is an independent think tank focused on the causes and outcomes of economic inequality. We’ve guided a comprehensive overhaul of their visual identity, digital marketing, and printed communications, establishing a style indicative of a respected resource for activists, journalists, policy-makers, and researchers.

In addition to rebranding and rebuilding their website, we’ve added innovative engagement tools like an interactive Pay Counter and a comprehensive UK Pay Database, empowering visitors to gain a detailed understanding of the organisation’s work.

Communicating clearly
HPC stand for better business and fair pay. Their identity needed to denote financial transparency and professionalism. We helped them achieve this by pairing an uncomplicated type hierarchy with a functional UK bank note-inspired colour palette. Then, we created a monospace logotype that stands out due to being right-aligned, a style commonly associated with numbers in spreadsheets and statements. Its size changes to fit multiple application formats.

Guiding style
Our brand kit includes a bespoke style guide that positions HPC to independently create communications: blog posts, press releases, reports, data graphics, charts, tables, and more.

Designing data-graphics
Information plays a central role in HPC’s reports and investigations. We designed a collection of templates for charts, graphs, and tables, ensuring consistency and facilitating clear communication.

“The website feels simple to use and looks much more modern and professional than our last.”

Head of Communications

Pay Counter
HPC’s new interactive Pay Counter invites visitors to compare their pay per second to the average FTSE 100 CEO’s.

UK Pay Database
We created a searchable database containing pay disclosures from the FTSE 350 index.

Recent media coverage
We’ve coded HPC’s website to monitor third-party news sources for mentions of their name. When articles containing it are published, titles, dates, and sources are automatically displayed on the Home page, effortlessly demonstrating the NGO’s ongoing role in the debate on economic inequality.

Categorisation and colour
We’ve used set colours to distinguish content areas: blogs, publications, events, and media. Our practical system provides visitors with an engaging, logical user journey.

Social media templates
To strengthen HPC’s online presence, we designed a set of social media post templates that share a visual relationship with the website categorisation system.
